AN ORDINANCE ESTABLISHING A 25 MILE PER HOUR
SPEED LIMIT FOR THAT PORTION OF 35TH STREET BETWEEN
MEYERS ROAD AND MIDWEST ROAD AND AMENDING
SECTION 7 -2 -1 OF THE VILLAGE CODE OF THE VILLAGE
OF OAK BROOK, DU PAGE AND COOK COUNTIES, ILLINOIS
WHEREAS, the Village Police Department conducted a traffic investigation relative to the
operating speed of vehicular traffic on 35th Street between Meyers Road and Midwest Road, and
WHEREAS, as a result of the traffic investigation, the Corporate Authorities have determined that
a reduction in the current speed limit from 30 miles per hour to 25 miles per hour is necessary to protect
the public health, safety and welfare
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE PRESIDENT AND BOARD OF TRUSTEES OF
THE VILLAGE OF OAK BROOK, DU PAGE AND COOK COUNTIES, ILLINOIS as follows
Section 1 The foregoing preambles are restated and incorporated herein by reference as though
fully set forth herein
Section 2 The speed limit of that portion of 35th Street between Meyers Road and Midwest Road
is reduced from 30 miles per hour to 25 miles per hour and Section 7 -2 -1, Schedule 1 of the Village Code
is hereby amended accordingly
Section 3 If any section, paragraph, clause or provision of this ordinance shall be held invalid, the
invalidity thereof shall not effect any of the other provisions of this ordinance
Section 4 All ordinances in conflict herewith are hereby repealed to the extent of such conflict
Section 5 This ordinance shall be in fully force and effect from and after its passage, approval
and publication as provided by law
