AN ORDINANCE REVISING THE FALSE FIRE ALARM SERVICE
CHARGE BY AMENDING CHAPTER 2 (FIRE PREVENTION)
OF TITLE 10 (BUILDING REGULATIONS) OF THE
VILLAGE CODE OF THE VILLAGE OF OAK BROOK
WHEREAS, the President and Board of Trustees have heretofore, by ordinance, established
service charges relating to alarm systems within Title 10 (Building Regulations) of the Village Code, and
WHEREAS, the Village Fire Chief has recommended an increase in the service charge for false
fire alarms in Title 10 (Building Regulations) of the Village Code, and
WHEREAS, the Village President and Board of Trustees have reviewed these proposed
amendments and have approved the changes recommended by the Village Fire Chief, and
WHEREAS, the President and Board of Trustees deem the suggested amendments to Title 10 of
the Village Code to be in the best interest and in pursuance of the general welfare of the Village,
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE PRESIDENT AND BOARD OF TRUSTEES OF
THE VILLAGE OF OAK BROOK, DU PAGE AND COOK COUNTIES, ILLINOIS, as follows.
Section 1 That the words and numbers "two hundred dollars ($200 00)" wherever they appear in
Section A (False Fire Alarm Service Charge) of Section 10 -2 -5 entitled (Alarm Systems) of Chapter 2
(Fire Prevention) of Title 10 (Building Regulations) of the Village Code of the Village of Oak Brook be
deleted therefrom and be replaced with the words and numbers "two hundred and fifty dollars ($250 00)"
Section 2: If any section, paragraph, clause or provision of this ordinance shall be held invalid,
the invalidity thereof shall not effect any of the other provisions of this ordinance
Section 3 All ordinances in conflict herewith are hereby repealed to the extent of such conflict
Section 4 This ordinance shall be in full force and effect from and after its passage, approval
and publication as required by law
