ORDINANCE 2001 -WA -G- 689
AN ORDINANCE AMENDING CHAPTER 5 OF TITLE 8 OF THE VILLAGE CODE
OF THE VILLAGE OF OAK BROOK, ILLINOIS
AND ADJUSTING WATER CHARGES
WHEREAS, the President and Board of Trustees of the Village of Oak Brook, Illinois have
heretofore, by ordinance established rates, fees, and service charges for water usage; and
WHEREAS, the Water Commission Act of 1985 sets forth certain regulations and financing
procedures for the proposed Lake Michigan water distribution system within DuPage County; and
WHEREAS, the President and Board of Trustees deem a revision of the water rates, fees, and
charges, and the passage of this Ordinance to be in the best interest and in pursuance of the general
welfare of the Village;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE PRESIDENT AND BOARD OF TRUSTEES OF
THE VILLAGE OF OAK BROOK, DU PAGE AND COOK COUNTIES, ILLINOIS as follows:
Section 1: That the provisions of the above preamble are hereby adopted as though fully set forth
herein.
Section 2: That Section 8 -5 -2G2 of the Village Code of the Village of Oak Brook, Illinois be and is
hereby amended to read as follows:
"2. Water shall be charged at the rate of two dollars sixty cents ($2.60) per thousand gallons."
Section 3: All ordinances, rules and regulations of the Village of Oak Brook which are in conflict
with the provisions of this Ordinance are hereby repealed to the extent of such conflict.
Section 4: If any section, subsection, sentence, clause or phrase of this Ordinance is for any
reason held to be invalid, such determination shall not affect the validity of,any remaining portion of this
Ordnance.
Section 5: This Ordinance shall be in full force and effect from and after its passage, approval
and publication in pamphlet form provided, however, that the water consumption charges as set forth in
Section 2 of this Ordinance shall only be effective for any water consumed after January 1, 2002.
Any water consumed prior to January 1, 2002 shall be at the rates heretofore established prior to the
passage of this ordinance.
Section 6: The Village Clerk is hereby authorized and directed to publish this Ordinance in
pamphlet form as required by law.
