Background /History: At the January 8, 2008 meeting, the Village Attorney was directed to prepare the ordinance granting approval of a variation to Section 13- 12 -3H -2 of the Zoning Ordinance to permit the construction of an 87 space parking lot in a side yard abutting a street. Background /History: Advocate Health & Hospitals Corporation, the owner of the building located at 1400 Kensington Road is requesting approval of a variation to Section 13- 12 -3H -2 in order to construct 84 new off - street parking spaces within the 100 -ft. side yard setback along Kensington Court. Even though the number of existing parking spaces on the property meets the Zoning Ordinance requirement of 3.3 spaces per 1000 square feet of gross floor, the applicant is seeking the additional spaces to serve the anticipated work force that will occupy the building. At the present time, Section 13- 12 -3H -2 limits the number of parking spaces in the front or side yard abutting a street to six (6).
