SUBJECT: Ordinance Amending the 2011 Budget

BUDGET SOURCE/BUDGET IMPACT: Full -time Salaries 700 - 50000; Overtime 700 -50300
Fire Pension 700 - 51300; FICA 700 -51400
RECOMMENDED MOTION: I move that the Village Board approve Ordinance S -1311
to Amend the 2011 Budget.
Background /History:
Information was provided to the Village Board in the Manager's Memo (confidential). A special
note to mention is that the Village's estimated cash reserves at 12/31/11 would be 6.15 months.
Due to the increase the Village is experiencing with Sales Tax revenues and the pension costs
coming in lower this year than what was budgeted keeps the cash reserves well within the six
month cash reserves.
Recommendation:
Approve Ordinance S -1311 to Amend the 2011 Budget.

ORDINANCE 2011 -BU -S -1311
AN ORDINANCE AMENDING THE 2011 BUDGET
WHEREAS, the 2011 Budget for the General Corporate Fund of the Village of Oak Brook included
$387,500 for Firefighters' union retro pay increases; and
WHEREAS, it is proposed that the funding for the firefighters' union contract settlement in the
2011 Budget year be amended for an additional $324,620 to incorporate the amount needed for the retro
payout to the union firefighters.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE PRESIDENT AND BOARD OF TRUSTEES OF
THE VILLAGE OF OAK BROOK, DU PAGE AND COOK COUNTIES, ILLINOIS that the following
amendment is hereby authorized:
Section 1: The General Corporate Fund budget is amended by adding $85.522.79 to Account
700 -50000 (Full -Time salaries); $68.202.74 to Account 700 -50300 (Overtime); $6,846.76 to Account 700-
51400 (FICA); $164,047.71 to Account 700 -51300 (Fire Pension), the increase which shall be funded by
the General Corporate's fund balance.
Section 2: This ordinance shall be in full force and effect from and after its passage and approval
as required by law.
Section 3: All ordinances or parts thereof in conflict with the provisions of this ordinance be and
the same are hereby repealed to the extent of such conflict.
