SUBJECT: Revision to Title 9 of the Code, Stormwater, Flood Plain, and Sedimentation and
Erosion Control Regulations

RECOMMENDATION: That the Village Board approve the attached Ordinance amending
Section 9 -5 -1 of the Village Code of the Village of Oak Brook.

The DuPage County Board recently approved certain revisions to the DuPage County Countywide
Stormwater Flood Plain Ordinance. As a full- waiver community, Oak Brook enforces the minimum
County standards and our Title 9 Ordinance mirrors the County Ordinance except in those areas where
we are more restrictive. Therefore, it is appropriate to incorporate the recent DuPage County revisions
into our Code.
The revisions are part clarification of existing Ordinance standards and part relaxation of certain
stormwater detention standards as they apply to the installation of recreational trails, recreational
playing fields, construction of flood control facilities and wetland banks, water quality best
management practices and the reconstruction of existing parking lots.
Attorney Martens has drafted the attached Ordinance in this regard.
This item is being placed on the Village Board agenda of July 22, 2003 for your consideration.

Motion by Trustee Miologos, seconded by Trustee Aktipis, to approve
Ordinance 2003- SWM -RR -G -726, "An Ordinance Amending Section 9-
5 -1 ( "General Information ") of Title 9 ( "Storm Water, Floodplain and
Sedimentation and Erosion Control Regulations ") of the Village Code of
the Village of Oak Brook." ROLL CALL VOTE:
Ayes: 6 - Trustees Aktipis, Caleel, Craig, Korm, Miologos and Yusuf.
Nays: 0 - None.
Absent: 0 - None. Motion carried.

President Quinlan announced that Village Attorney Martens will pursue other
opportunities at the end of this year and he commended him for his many years
of service at the Village of Oak Brook Attorney Martens thanked the residents
and Board for having the privilege of serving this community for fifteen years.
Trustee Aktipis also commended Attorney Martens and wished him well in his
future endeavors.
