Attached is an ordinance that re- adopts the Village Board vision and mission statements as discussed at the Committee -of- the -Whole meetings of May 21 and June 5. The Aston statement has not been changed from the statement that was last adopted on Aug I st 24, 1999 The mission statement has been amended as requested on May 21 and reviewed on June 5 Sp icifically, the fourth bullet point has had language added to indicate some of the means by which the Village involves citizens in the decision making process. 1 As in the past, the ordinance also provides for continuing the practice of reviewing the Board's vision and mission in conjunction with consideration of the Board's objectives each year. Absent: 0 — None. 2) ORDNANCE ""2001- LC -V -G -679 AN ORDINANCE REPEALING TITLE 4, CHAPTER 5, VENDING MACHINES, OF THE VILLAGE CODE OF THE VILLAGE OF OAK BROOK When the Village Code was recodified in September 2000, staff intended to delete the section pertaining to the licensing of vending machines, as this type of licensing has not been in effect for a number of years. Because the licensing of vending machines was inadvertently not deleted in the recodification, the ordinance repeals that section of the Village Code. Motion by Trustee Caleel, seconded by Trustee Butler, to approve Ordinance #2001- LC -V -G -679, "An Ordinance Repealing Title 4, Chapter 5, Vending Machines, of the Village Code of the Village of Oak Brook ", as presented and waive the full reading thereof. VILLAGE OF OAK BROOK Minutes Page 5 of 12 July 24, 2001 & f-0 O ""0I - LC -V -C -679 REPEAL VENDIN MACHINE CODE INFO & UPDATES LLG PRES VLLG MGR n ORDINANCE 2001- BD -BOT -EX2 -S -999 AN ORDINANCE READOPTING THE VISION AND MISSION STATEMENTS OF THE VILLAGE OF OAK BROOK WHEREAS, on August 8, 1995, the President and Board of Trustees of the Village of Oak Brook approved Ordinance 95- BD -BOT -EX2 -S -826, believing that sound planning begins with an organization's statement of its vision and its mission, and WHEREAS, the President and Board of Trustees revisit these vision and mission statements on an annual basis in conjunction with the Board's consideration of annual objectives, most recently occurring at the Committee -of -the -Whole meetings on May 21 and June 5, 2001; and WHEREAS, after careful consideration, the President and Board of Trustees deem adoption of the statement of vision and statement of mission with an amendment set forth below to be in the best interests of the Village; and NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE PRESIDENT AND BOARD OF TRUSTEES OF THE VILLAGE OF OAK BROOK, DU PAGE AND COOK COUNTIES, ILLINOIS as follows: Section 1: That the provisions of the preamble hereinabove set forth are hereby adopted as though fully set forth herein. Section 2: That the President and Board of Trustees approve and adopt the Statement of Vision which is attached hereto and incorporated herein as Exhibit "A ".
