S-1046 - 08/12/2003 - PERSONAL PROPERTY - Ordinances Supporting DocumentsF 0.4f 0 7 VILLAGE OF OAK BROOK ..• C2 �' Village Board Transmittal Memorandum CO REVISED DATE: August 12, 2003 SUBJECT: Sale of Surplus Vehicles via DuPage Mayors and Managers Conference Auction FROM: Rania Serences, Purchasing Clerk RECOMMENDATION: That the Village Board pass the attached ordinance declaring five vehicles surplus and authorizing their sale through the DuPage Mayors and Managers Conference public auction. The attached ordinance declares five vehicles as surplus and authorizes their sale at the DuPage Mayors and Managers Conference surplus vehicle and equipment auction. The vehicles declared surplus will be one Police Department vehicle: unit number 303, One Public Works vehicle: unit 406, One Fire Department vehicle: unit 910, and two Sports Core vehicles: unit numbers 701 and 703. The attached ordinance contains the age and the approximate current mileage for these vehicles. The Conference charges a 15% administrative fee, which will be subtracted from the gross receipts. Also, a $50 charge is imposed on any vehicle that is brought to the auction that does not sell. The auction is scheduled for Saturday, September 6, 2003 at the College of DuPage, with bidding beginning at 10:00 am. As in the past years, the Village is required to supply one staff person (usually a Police Officer) to assist the Conference with the auction. Village officers, employees and their families are not allowed to bid on Oak Brook surplus vehicles, but are allowed to bid on vehicles from other organizations. The purpose of the IIMC Master Municipal Clerk Academy is to provide professional and educational opportunities for municipal clerks to extend beyond their present levels of development and to enhance their skills to meet the challenges of the office of municipal clerk. He congratulated her for efforts to enhance the clerk's office and its duties. 4. APPROVAL OF MINUTES.
