Since the passage of that ordinance, the Public Works Department has expressed its desire to retain Unit 308. As a result, I have drafted the attached ordinance which repeals Ordinance 2000 -PP -S -968 and amends the list of vehicles selected for public auction. Subdivision VILLAGE OF OAK BROOK Minutes Page 3 of 9 August 22, 2000 1� ORDINANCE 2000 -PP -S -971 AN ORDINANCE REPEALING ORDINANCE 2000 -PP -S -968 AND AUTHORIZING THE SALE BY PUBLIC AUCTION OF PERSONAL PROPERTY OWNED BY THE VILLAGE OF OAK BROOK WHEREAS, on July 25, 2000, this Board passed Ordinance 2000 -PP -S -968 entitled, "An Ordinance Authorizing the Sale by Public Auction of Personal Property Owned by the Village of Oak Brook" for the sale of certain surplus property; and WHEREAS, since the passage of that ordinance, the Public Works Department has expressed its desire to retain a 1998 Ford Crown Victoria, Unit No. 308, VIN No. 2FAFP21 W4WX144619, which is in better condition than Unit No. 309, VIN No. 2FAFP21 W4WX144621; and WHEREAS, this Board wishes to effect this substitution by repealing the prior ordinance and passing this ordinance which comports with the desires of the Public Works Department; and WHEREAS, in the opinion of at least a simple majority of the corporate authorities of the Village of Oak Brook, it is no longer necessary or useful to or for the best interests of the Village of Oak Brook to retain ownership of the personal property hereinafter described; and WHEREAS, it has been determined by the President and Board of Trustees of the Village of Oak Brook to sell said personal property at the DuPage Mayors and Managers Conference public auction to be held on Saturday, September 9, 2000. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE PRESIDENT AND BOARD OF TRUSTEES OF THE VILLAGE OF OAK BROOK, DU PAGE AND COOK COUNTIES, ILLINOIS as follows: Section 1- That the provisions of the preamble hereinabove set forth are hereby adopted as though fully set forth herein. Section 2: That Ordinance No. 2000 -PP -S -968, 968 entitled, "An Ordinance Authorizing the Sale by Public Auction of Personal Property Owned by the Village of Oak Brook" is hereby repealed and is of no further force or effect. Section 3: That pursuant to 65 ILCS 5/11 -76-4 the President and Board of Trustees of the Village of Oak Brook find that the following described personal property* VIN NO UNIT NO YEAR MAKE /MODEL MILEAGE 2FAFP71 WOWX144620 304 1998 Ford Crown Victoria 83,000 2FAFP71 WOWX144617 305 1998 Ford Crown Victoria 80,000 2FAFP71 W2WX144621 309 1998 Ford Crown Victoria 78,200 1 G1 LT54W8KY213064 951 1989 Chevrolet Corsica 70,000 1 G1 BL52P2TR151163 307A 1996 Chevrolet Caprice 72,000 now owned by the Village of Oak Brook, is no longer necessary or useful to the Village of Oak Brook and the best interests of the Village of Oak Brook will be served by its sale Ordinance 2000 -PP -S- 971 Authorizing The Sale of Certain Personal Property, Page 2 Section 4• Pursuant to said 65 ILCS 5/11 -76 -4, the Village Manager is hereby authorized and directed to sell the aforementioned personal property now owned by the Village of Oak Brook at the DuPage Mayors and Managers Conference public auction, on Saturday, September 9, 2000 at the College of DuPage, Glen Ellyn, Illinois, to the highest bidder on said property Section 5: The Village Manager is hereby authorized and may direct the DuPage Mayors and Managers Conference to advertise the sale of the aforementioned personal property in a newspaper published within the community before the date of said public auction. Section 6: The Village Manager is hereby authorized and may direct the DuPage Mayors and Managers Conference to enter into an agreement for the sale of said personal property. The Conference will charge an administrative fee which will come out of the proceeds from the sale of surplus vehicles and equipment. Section 7: Upon payment of the full auction price, the Village Manager is hereby authorized and directed to convey and transfer title of the aforesaid personal property to the successful bidder. Section 8: This ordinance shall be in full force and effect from and after its passage and approval in the manner provided by law PASSED THIS 22nd day of August, 2000.
