SUBJECT: Surplus Property

RECOMMENDED MOTION: I move that the Village Board adopt the attached ordinance
authorizing the sale of surplus items.
The attached ordinance lists furniture that was not used (in the Municipal Complex and
Library Construction Projects. The list includes items that had either reached their useful life
or would not fit in the building plans.
These items will be disposed of by first advertising for bids. If no bids are received, they will
be offered to local schools and not - for - profit agencies. Any remaining items will be disposed
of.

MEETING OF THE PRESIDENT AND BOARD OF
TRUSTEES OF THE VILLAGE OF OAK BROOK
APPROVED AS WRITTEN ON SEPTEMBER 23, 2003.
1. CALL TO ORDER: CALL TO ORDER
The Regular Meeting of the Village Board of Trustees was called to order by
President Quinlan in the Samuel E. Dean Board Room of the Butler
Government Center at 7:32 p.m. The Pledge of Allegiance was given.
2. ROLL CALL: ROLL CALL
Village Clerk Linda Gonnella called the roll with the following persons
PRESENT: President Kevin M. Quinlan, Trustees John W. Craig, Susan
Chase Korn, Elaine Miologos and Asif Yusuf.
ABSENT: Trustees Stelios Aktipis and George T. Caleel.
IN ATTENDANCE: Richard B. Boehm, Village Manager; Dale L. Durfey, Jr.,
Village Engineer; Darrell J. Langlois, Finance Director; Ruth A.
Martin, Library Director; Robert Cronholm, Acting Fire Chief
and Lexi Payovich, Plan Commission Chairman.
3. ANNOUNCEMENTS AND OPEN FORUM: ANNOUNCE
President Quinlan announced the birth of a new grandson of the Village Clerk,
Linda Gonnella.
4. APPROVAL OF MINUTES: MINUTES
Motion by Trustee Craig, seconded by Trustee Konn, to approve the Minutes of
the Regular Board of Trustees Meeting of August 26, 2003 as presented and
waive the full reading thereof. VOICE VOTE: Motion carved.

AN ORDINANCE AUTHORIZING THE VILLAGE OF OAK BROOK TO ADVERTISE
FOR BIDS TO SELL CERTAIN PERSONAL PROPERTY, TO DONATE TO SCHOOL
DISTRICTS AND OTHER NOT - FOR - PROFIT AGENCIES ITEMS THAT RECEIVE NO
BIDS, AND TO DISPOSE OF ITEMS THAT HAVE NO VALUE
WHEREAS, in the opinion of the corporate authorities of the Village of Oak
Brook, it is no longer necessary or useful to or in the best interests of the Village of Oak
Brook to retain the personal property described in the attached list now owned by the
Village; and
WHEREAS, the Village of Oak Brook wishes to advertise for bids to sell certain
personal property, to donate to school districts and other not - for - profit agencies items
that receive no bids, and to dispose of remaining items.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE PRESIDENT AND BOARD OF
TRUSTEES OF THE VILLAGE OF OAK BROOK, DU PAGE AND COOK COUNTIES,
ILLINOIS as follows:
Section 1: Pursuant to Section 11 -76 -4 of the Illinois Municipal Code, Chapter
65, III.Comp.Stat., 5/11 -76 -4, the corporate authorities find that the personal property
described in the attached list is no longer necessary or useful to the Village of Oak
Brook and the best interests of the Village of Oak Brook will be served by its receipt of
bids, donation, or disposal.
Section 2: Pursuant to said Section 11 -76 -4, the Village Manager be and he is
hereby authorized and directed to advertise for bids, to sell the personal property
described in the attached list, to donate to school districts and other not - for - profit
agencies items that receive no bids, and to dispose of remaining items.
Section 3: That this Ordinance shall be in full force and effect from and after its
passage, by at least three fourths of all the corporate authorities, and approval in the
manner provided by law.
