Approving the Release of Closed Meeting Minutes from October 2007 through May, 2008.
Backj!round/History:
The Open Meetings Act requires that all public bodies shall keep written minutes of all their
meetings, whether open or closed. The public body shall periodically, but no less than semi-
annually, meet to review minutes of all closed sessions that had not been released to the public.
At this time, the Board of Trustees has reviewed minutes from October of 2007 through May,
2008 and is ready to approve and release the minutes as appropriate. The minutes have been
redacted regarding the necessary sections of the meetings for those items that are still pending
and require continued confidentiality. The following list itemizes the minutes for this time
period with recommendations for release:

Recommendation:
That the Board pass Resolution R -1022.
RESOLUTION 2008- BD -CL- MIN -EX1 -R -1022
A RESOLUTION FOR THE APPROVAL AND
RELEASE OF CLOSED MEETING MINUTES
WHEREAS, the Village Board of the Village of Oak Brook has met from time to time in closed
meeting for purposes authorized by the Illinois Open Meetings Act, and
WHEREAS, pursuant to the requirements of 5 ILCS 120/2 06(c), the Village Board has met in closed
meeting to review all closed Meeting minutes, and
WHEREAS, the Village Board has further determined that a need for confidentiality still exists as to
portions of the closed meeting minutes from the meetings set forth on Schedule A , attached hereto as
Exhibit 1
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE PRESIDENT AND BOARD OF TRUSTEES OF THE
VILLAGE OF OAK BROOK, DU PAGE AND COOK COUNTIES, ILLINOIS as follows
Section 1 That the closed meeting minutes of October 9, November 27, December 1 and December
11, 2007 and the closed meeting minutes of January 3, January 8, January 22, February 12, February 26,
March 11, April 8(1), April 8(2), April 22, May 1 and May 13, 2008 are hereby approved, as written or
amended
Section 2 That the closed meeting minutes of April 22, 2008 are hereby released in their entirety as
listed in Schedule A, attached hereto and made a part hereof as Exhibit 1
Section 3 That the closed meeting minutes of October 9, 2007, are hereby released, subject to the
deletions described in Schedule B, attached hereto and made a part hereof as Exhibit 1
Section 4 That the closed meeting minutes of November 27, 2007, December 1, 2007, December
11, 2007, January 3, 2008, January 8, 2008, January 22, 2008, February 12, 2008, February 26, 2008, March
11, 2008, April 8, 2008 (1 and 2), May 1, 2008 and May 13, 2008 are not ready for release at this time, as
listed in Schedule C, attached hereto and made a part hereof as Exhibit 1
Section 5 That the Village Clerk is hereby authorized and directed to make minutes identified in
Sections 2 and 3 available for inspection and copying in accordance with the standing procedures of the
Clerk's office, subject to the deletions described in Schedule B
Section 6 That this resolution shall be in full force and effect from and after its passage and approval
as provided by law
