Background/History: The attached ordinance authorizes the sale of two (2) Viking 36" Freestanding Stainless Steel Ranges from the Fire Department that have reached the end of their useful life and will be replaced with newer models. The Village will first register the ranges with iBid, an online auctioneer run by the State of Illinois. If no bids are received through the online auction, staff will donate to a non -for profit organization or will dispose of if they cannot be dontated. Recommendation: Staff recommends that the Village Board adopt the attached ordinance authorizing the sale of surplus items. Last saved by nerence JAWORDDOOSURPLUS12012 Surplus\2012 Viking Ovens.doc 0� Last printed 11/72012 10:31 AM ORDINANCE 2012 -PP -S -1354 AN ORDINANCE AUTHORIZING THE SALE, DONATION OR DISPOSAL OF CERTAIN ITEMS OF PERSONAL PROPERTY OWNED BY THE VILLAGE OF OAK BROOK WHEREAS, in the opinion of a majority of the corporate authorities, it is no longer necessary or useful or in the best interests of the Village to retain the item of personal property listed below; and WHEREAS, the Village wishes to dispose of said property by sale or through auction, donation or disposal; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE PRESIDENT AND BOARD OF TRUSTEES OF THE VILLAGE OF OAK BROOK, DU PAGE AND COOK COUNTIES, ILLINOIS as follows: Section 1: The foregoing recitals are incorporated herein as findings of the corporate authorities.
