A RESOLUTION APPROVING THE PURCHASE OF A FIRE UTILITY STEP TRUCK
FROM TRANSCHICAGO TRUCK GROUP
WHEREAS, the Village owns a 1999 Front-Line Heavy Rescue Squad ("Squad"), utilized in the
Fire Department, which has exceeded its useful life and will be costly to repair and maintain; and
WHEREAS, replacing the current Squad with a smaller and affordable Utility Step Truck
("Truck")will eliminate costly repairs and refurbishment of an outdated and inadequate vehicle; and
WHEREAS, Village staff solicited bids to purchase the Truck in November 2016; and
WHEREAS, the Village received one (1) bid; and
WHEREAS, TransChicago Truck Group, a subsidiary of Freightliner ("Trans Chicago's was the
sole proposer, and its proposal was evaluated for content, responsiveness to the specifications, and
overall cost; and
WHEREAS, the Village President and Board of Trustees, being fully advised in the premises,
have determined that it is in the best interests of the Village and its residents to authorize the purchase of
the Truck from TransChicago in the amount of $99,242.00, and allow an amount of $60,758.00 for the
purchase of required incidentals through various vendors, for a total price not to exceed $160,000; and
NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE PRESIDENT AND BOARD OF TRUSTEES OF
THE VILLAGE OF OAK BROOK, DU PAGE AND COOK COUNTIES, ILLINOIS as follows:
Section 1: Recitals. The foregoing recitals are hereby incorporated into, and made a part of,
this Resolution as the findings of the President and Board of Trustees of the Village of Oak Brook.
Section 2: Authorization of Purchase of the Truck. The President and Board of Trustees
hereby approve the purchase of the Truck from TransChicago in the amount of$99,242.00, and allow an
amount of $60,758.00 for the purchase of required incidentals through various vendors, for a total price
not to exceed $160,000.
Section 3: Execution of Required Documentation. The Village Manager is hereby authorized
to execute on behalf of the Village all documents necessary to complete the purchase pursuant to Section
2 of this Resolution.
Section 4: Effective Date. This Resolution shall be in full force and effect upon passage and
approval in the manner provided by law.
