RECOMMENDED MOTION: Motion to Approve Resolution 2017-
CNTRCT-FD-IAFF-EX-R-1670,A Resolution Approving an Agreement
By and Between the Village of Oak Brook and the International
Association of Fire Fighters,Local#4646.
Background/History:
The Village has been in negotiations with the members our Fire Department since their
contract expired on December 31, 2015. Negotiations have been ongoing during this time
and both parties reached a tentative agreement for a successor contract after a mediation
session was held. This is a three (3) year agreement which will expire on December 31,
2018.
Recommendation:
The Village Board approves the contract as presented.

A RESOLUTION APPROVING AN AGREEMENT BY AND BETWEEN
THE VILLAGE OF OAK BROOK AND THE
INTERNATIONAL ASSOCIATION OF FIRE FIGHTERS, LOCAL#4646
WHEREAS, many of the Fire Department employees employed by the Village of Oak Brook
("Village's are members of the International Association of Fire Fighters, Local#4646 ("Union's; and
WHEREAS, the Village and the Union desire to enter into an agreement governing the
employment terms between the Village and those employed members of the Union for the period
between January 1, 2016 and December 31, 2018 ("Agreement's, which is attached hereto as Exhibit
A; and
WHEREAS, the Village President and Board of Trustees hereby find and determine that it is in
the best interest of the Village to approve and enter into the Agreement.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE PRESIDENT AND BOARD OF TRUSTEES OF
THE VILLAGE OF OAK BROOK, DU PAGE AND COOK COUNTIES, ILLINOIS as follows:
Section 1: Recitals. The foregoing recitals are incorporated into, and made a part of, this
Resolution as the findings of the Village President and Board of Trustees.
Section 2: Approval of the Agreement. The President and Board of Trustees hereby
approve the Agreement by and between the Village and the Union in substantially the form attached to
this Resolution as Exhibit A.
Section 3: Authorization and Execution of the Agreement. The Village President and Village
Clerk shall be, and hereby are, authorized to execute the Agreement after receipt of the final Agreement
fully executed by the Union.
Section 4: Effective Date. This Resolution shall be in full force and effect upon passage and
approval in the manner provided by law.
