R-1319 - 12/10/2013 - CONTRACTS - Resolutions RESOLUTION 2013-DE-PRPTY-CNTRCT-R-1319 A RESOLUTION APPROVING THE AWARD OF A CONTRACT FOR THE DEMOLITION OF THE BUILDING AT 615 22nd STREET WHEREAS, the Village recently purchased the property located at 615 22nd Street, Oak Brook, Illinois ("Property's; and WHEREAS, the Village desires to demolish the building located on the Property and return the Property to its natural state; and WHEREAS, the Village sought bids for a contractor to demolish the building located on the Property and to return the Property to its natural state ("Services'); and WHEREAS, Meridian Industrial Services of Lake Bluff, Illinois ("Meridian") was the lowest responsive and responsible bidder to provide the Services; and WHEREAS, the President and Board of Trustees, being fully advised in the premises, have determined that it is in the best interests of the Village and its residents to enter into a Contract with Meridian; NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE PRESIDENT AND BOARD OF TRUSTEES OF THE VILLAGE OF OAK BROOK, DU PAGE AND COOK COUNTIES, ILLINOIS as follows: Section 1: Recitals. The foregoing recitals are hereby incorporated into, and made a part of, this Resolution as the findings of the President and Board of Trustees of the Village of Oak Brook. Section 2: Approval of the Agreement. The President and Board of Trustees hereby approve an agreement by and between the Village and Meridian for Meridian to provide the Services in an amount not to exceed $97,380.00 ("Agreement's in a final form approved by the Village Attorney and Village Manager. Section 3: Execution of Agreement. The Village President and the Village Clerk shall be, and are hereby, authorized to execute and attest, on behalf of the Village, the Agreement authorized pursuant to Section 2 of this Resolution. Section 4: Effective Date. This Resolution shall be in full force and effect from and after its passage and approval in the manner provided by law.
