RESOLUTION OF APPRECIATION AND RECOGNITION
WHEREAS, MCDONALD'S CORPORATION purchased property in 1978 from Paul Butler and
has become one of the largest corporate residents in the Village of Oak Brook, subsequently
establishing their World Headquarters and Hamburger University here; and
WHEREAS, since 2008, MCDONALD'S has been the premier sponsor of Oak Brook's
Independence Day Celebration and the Taste of Oak Brook, which, without MCDONALD'S generosity,
these events would not have been possible; and
WHEREAS, MCDONALD'S has continuously supported the Oak Brook Police Department:
• By providing materials and refreshments in the "Alive at 25" defensive driving courses
• By making a donation to the 2014 Spring CALEA Conference, and
• By participating in the first class of the new Citizen's Police Academy; and
WHEREAS, the First Annual Police and Fire Charity Pancake Breakfast, held on October 5,
2013, was a huge success serving over 300 attendees delicious donated MCDONALD'S pancakes and
sausage and benefitting the Illinois Burn Prevention Association and the Illinois Law Enforcement Torch
Run for Special Olympics.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the President and Board of Trustees of the Village
of Oak Brook that the said MCDONALD'S CORPORATION is hereby commended for their generosity
to the Village of Oak Brook and the citizens thereof.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the President and Board of Trustees of the Village of Oak
Brook, for and on behalf of said Village and its citizens, do hereby extend their appreciation and
gratitude to the said MCDONALD'S CORPORATION for their extraordinary support as aforedescribed.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that a duly certified copy of this Resolution be delivered to the
said MCDONALD'S CORPORATION and that this Resolution be spread upon the official permanent
records of said Village.
ADOPTED AND APPROVED by the President and Board of Trustees of the Village of Oak
Brook, DuPage and Cook Counties, Illinois, this 22nd day of October, 2013.
