20-01 Officer and Civilian of the Year Oak Brook Police Department 1200 Oak Brook Road Oak Brook, IL 60523 (630) 368-8702 Contact: Officer Katie Yager Public Information Officer (630) 368-8734 cyager@oak-brook.org FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE Oak Brook Police Announce Officer and Civilian Employee of the Year OAK BROOK, IL – January 21, 2020 The Oak Brook Police Department is pleased to announce the Officer of the Year for 2019 is Detective Scott Warren. Detective Warren has been a member of the Oak Brook Police Department since September of 2002 after previously serving as a Telecommunicator for seven years. He has been assigned to the Investigations Division since 2017 and previously served as a Detective 2008 to 2012 and on the Tactical Unit in 2007. Detective Warren coordinated efforts with multiple jurisdictions this past year to conduct an operation that culminated in the successful arrests of several auto theft suspects. His efforts resulted in the clearance of multiple cases in Oak Brook as well as over twenty-five in neighboring jurisdictions. Detective Warren has also been a board member of the Cook County Retail Organized Crime Task Force and has served as lead investigator on multiple cases involving identity theft, credit card fraud as well as assisted on a recent complex aggravated criminal sexual assault/kidnapping case. Detective Warren also serves as the Officer in Charge of Investigations in the absence of his supervisor and is a member of the MERIT Major Crimes Unit. The Civilian Employee of the Year for 2019 is Community Service Officer Michael McTighe. CSO McTighe has been a member of the Department since July of 2008. During his time as a CSO McTighe also served as a temporary Telecommunicator assisting with the department’s transition to DU-COMM in 2012. CSO McTighe served on the department’s technology committee assisting with the transition of the new DuPage County CAD and Records System. He also assists to administrate the department’s deployment of the speed trailer to address resident concerns of residential speeding. CSO McTighe has also volunteered as a co-chair of the department’s Law Enforcement Torch Run for Special Olympics and participated in the Special Olympics Super Plunge in Lake Michigan, plunging once an hour for twenty-four hours, as well as the Oak Brook Polar Plunge and will serve on a state committee to prepare for the 2021 Special Olympics International Convention in Chicago. This is the Oak Brook Police Department’s Fourth Annual Officer of the Year and Civilian Employee of the Year awards. Nominations were submitted by fellow employees to the Department Employee of the Year Committee who then brought forward a recommendation to the Chief of Police for final approval.
