RE: Linebacker Agreement
Dear Dr. Lalmalani:
Thank you for using our Linebacker program to hire an interim police chief. My understanding is that
John Krull, who we referred to you,will earn $11,000 per month in this role, beginning January 3, 2022,
and ending May 3, 2022, although there might be some flexibility in the end date.
I am writing to confirm that with your Linebacker agreement with the Illinois Association of Chiefs of
Police,which was explained before we referred Mr. Krull to you for your consideration,the Village of
Oak Brook will pay ILACP ten percent of that amount,or$1,100 per month, as the Linebacker fee. This is
a separate fee paid to the association and is not subtracted from Mr. Krull's compensation. The
association will send the village the first invoice,for January 2022, on the last day of January, and then
send an invoice for$1,100 on the last day of each month that Mr. Krull serves as your interim police
chief. The final invoice will be prorated if he serves less than a full month. If his last day is May 3, 2022,
there will be no invoice for May. If your arrangement with Mr. Krull ends before May 3 or continues
beyond May 3, 2022, the Linebacker fee will continue until his final day as the interim chief.
The Village of Oak Brook will notify us when Mr. Krull is no longer the interim chief.
