RECOMMENDED MOTION: I move that the Village Board approve
Ordinance,2022-B&T-FEES-G-1205 An Ordinance Amending Title 12, Chapter 3
of the Village Code to Modify the Annual Bath & Tennis Club membership Rates.
Background/History:
All aspects of the Oak Brook Bath & Tennis Club, Pool and Tennis facilities were
operated by the Oak Brook Park District in 2020 and 2021 per an IGA with the Park
District. In 2020 the pool did not open due to COVID-19. In 2021 the pool was plagued
with construction issues causing it to open in July and contend with closures throughout
the remainder of the season due to mechanical failures relating to the initial construction.
The Park District set the membership rates in 2020 and 2021.
Requests for amendments from the Sports Core Advisory Committee and Village staff
are reflected in the attached ordinance. These include retaining the adopted 2021 rates
for 2022 along with elimination of the early sign-up discount. Other amendments include
an increase to the Swim Team Fee Schedule,as well as clarifications related to the tennis
court season to reflect the actual operation of those courts; including a longer season and
the ability to delegate the decision to close the courts due to weather and climate related
issues.
Recommendation:
Staff recommends the Village Board approve the request for updates to the Sports Core
Ordinance 2022-B&T-FEES-G-1205.

AN ORDINANCE
AMENDING TITLE 12 CHAPTER 3 OF THE VILLAGE CODE TO MODIFY THE ANNUAL
BATH & TENNIS CLUB MEMBERSHIP RATES
WHEREAS, the Village of Oak Brook (hereinafter the "Village") is a municipal corporation
with authority provided for and granted pursuant to the Illinois Municipal Code to exercise certain
powers and perform certain functions pertaining to its local government and affairs;
WHEREAS, the Village has in full force and effect a codified set of those ordinances which
are of a general and permanent nature, which said codified set is known and designated as the
Village Code of the Village of Oak Brook, as amended;
WHEREAS; Title 12 (Recreational Facilities) Chapter 3(Oak Brook Bath and Tennis Club)
provides for, among other things, the annual membership and fee scheduales for access to the
Oak Brook Bath and Tennis Club;
WHEREAS, the Corporate Authorities of the Village of Oak Brook now desire to amend
the Village code to modify the annual membership rates pursuant to the schedule attached hereto
and incorporated herein as EXHIBIT A; and
WHEREAS, the Village of Oak Brook Corporate Authorities are of the opinion that it is in
the best interests of the Village of Oak Brook to approve the amendment to the Village Code for
the purposes referenced herein.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED by the Village President and Board of Trustees
of the Village of Oak Brook, DuPage and Cook Counties, Illinois as follows:
Section One— Recitals
The Corporate Authorities hereby find that all of the recitals hereinbefore stated as
contained in the preamble to this Ordinance are full, true and correct and do hereby, by reference,
incorporate and make them part of this Ordinance as legislative findings.
Section Two—Amendment of Title 12 Chapter 3
The Village hereby amends Title 12 (Recreational Facilities) Chapter 3 (Oak Brook Bath
and Tennis Club) Section 2 (Season Membership and Fee Schedule) as follows:
A. General Membership: Membership fees are non-refundable ander non-transferable
and are established by the Village of Oak Brook was follows:

The Village hereby amends Title 12 (Recreational Facilities) Chapter 3 (Oak Brook Bath and
Tennis Club) Section 6 (Operation of Tennis Courts) as follows:
B. The outdoor tennis courts will be supervised by a tennis professional and staff frena-May
15 to September 15 (weather permitting). The nets will be up and the courts will be open on
a first-come,first-served basis from appreximately ApFil 15 te Q r.teberl ln5(weather permitting).
The outdoor courts will be open 161r;nn these dates as weather permits seven (7) days per
week from dawn until dusk.
C.(1) Courts may be taken out of service due to moisture or dryness or any other reason
at the discretion of the Village Manager or designee
Section Three—Codification
The title, chapter(s) and section(s) adopted by this Ordinance shall be numbered and placed
in an appropriate title, chapter(s), and sections(s) sections when and during the codification of the
Oak Brook Municipal Code.
Section Four—Effective Date
This ordinance shall be in full force and effect from and after its passage, approval and
publication as provided by law.
Section Five — Publication
This ordinance shall be published in book or pamphlet form as provided by the Illinois
Municipal Code.
Section Six—Conflict Clause
All ordinances, parts of ordinances or board actions in conflict herewith are hereby repealed
to the extent of such conflict.
Section Seven — Saving Clause
If any section, paragraph, clause or provision of this ordinance is declared by a court of
law to be invalid or unconstitutional, the invalidity or unconstitutionality thereof shall not affect the
validity of any other provisions of this ordinance, which are hereby declared to be separable.
Section Eight— Recording
This ordinance shall be entered into the minutes and upon the journals of the Board of
Trustees of the Village of Oak Brook.
