Wheaton, IL 60187 www.d upagehousi ng.org Contact: David Niemeyer Phone: (630) 368-5000 Fax (630) 3685045 Village of Oak Brook Jointly Settles 70 -year Old Lawsuit Oak Brook, Illinois (June 4, 2012) The Village of Oak Brook, the Forest Preserve District of DuPage County (FPD) and the DuPage Housing Authority (DHA) recently submitted a joint motion for dismissal of a 10 year old lawsuit. Asa result of this motion, the Court of Appeals for the 7th Circuit Court has recently dismissed the case. The agreement ends a long dispute between the parties. "We are glad to have this long standing dispute with the Housing Authority and DuPage County Forest Preserve District behind us," stated Village President Gopal Lalmalani. D. "Dewey" Pierotti Jr., President of the Forest Preserve District of DuPage County, stated, "On behalf of the Forest Preserve District, I'm pleased to move past this legal matter and to now be able to more fully focus our efforts on our important mission of conservation, education and recreation. I also look forward to furthering the otherwise positive relationships that the District has maintained with the DHA and the Village of Oak Brook throughout this lawsuit."
