Argentine-AirButler Polo Match Sunday, September 9th
Oak Brook, Illinois – September 8, 2012 – The Village of Oak Brook is pleased to announce that sponsored
by the Consulate General of Argentina in Chicago, Sunday’s Polo Match will bring together Argentina´s Pampa
and “Estancias” tradition as part of the Willow Harbor – Oak Brook Polo Club Cup.
“After several years of planning, the September 9th matches mark the conclusion of an exciting 2012 polo
season in Oak Brook,” said Oak Brook Village President Gopal Lalmalani.
The Polo match between an Argentine Polo Team and the AirButler (US) Polo Team will take place at the Oak
Brook Polo Club Fields, located at 700 Oak Brook Road, Oak Brook, IL. It will be an elegant and perfect
recreation of Argentina´s best internationally known trademarks: Polo, food, and wine. During the Argentine-
AirButler Polo Match 2012, local league Argentine and American players will represent their two countries.
Tickets are valid for both the 1pm and 3pm matches and children 12 and under are admitted for free.
General admission tickets are $30 at the event, $25 before; VIP tickets are $125. Tickets are available for

Co-sponsors, the Argentine American Midwest Chamber of Commerce and AirButler Aviation, the Argentine-
AirButler Polo Match seek to promote Argentine culture, cuisine and tourism as a means of fostering the
friendly relationship between Argentina and the United States. “Asado” – Argentine BBQ – as well as other
traditional food from Argentina will be served. Tourism information will also be available.
Since the first Polo match took place in Argentina in 1875, the “sport of kings” has become an important
component of the Argentine Culture as well as a signature of the country. The Argentine National Team has
won many international tournaments and awards, including the World Polo Championship in 1987, 1992,
1998 and 2011. The Oak Brook Polo Club, with long tradition in this equestrian sport, has served as venue for
the U.S. Open Polo Championship from 1954 to 1978.
