Oak Brook, IL- July 2013- The deadline to participate in the final Citizen's
Police Academy for the 2013 calendar year is rapidly approaching. This dynamic
community oriented policing program allows members of our residential and
business communities an opportunity to gain a working knowledge of practices,
)olicies, and procedures of the Oak Brook Police Department. Some topics of
instruction include Support Services and Community programs, Illinois Vehicle
Code, DUI, criminal law, case law, evidence collection, SWAT, defensive tactics,
and traffic stops. There is NO COST to participate in this program. Enrollment is
limited, and applicants who live or work in Oak Brook will receive preference.
The deadline to submit your application is August 25, 2013. Classes begin
August 28, 2013 and meet every Wednesday at the Oak Brook Police Department
from 6:30pm until 9:00pm for ten weeks.
