AN ORDINANCE AUTHORIZING AMENDMENTS AND TRANSFERS
AMONG BUDGET LINE ITEMS
WHEREAS, the Village's original 2022 budget contained authorization for two Police Department
Commander positions; and
WHEREAS,on June 14,2022 the Village Board amended the 2022 budget to contain authorization
for only one Police Department Commander position; and
WHEREAS, the Village's 2022 budget contains authorization for seven Police Department
Sergeant Positions; and
WHEREAS, the Village President and Board of Trustees desire to authorize a Police Department
restructuring consisting of two Police Department Deputy Chief's and one civilian Accreditation Manager in
the Village's 2022 Budget; and
WHEREAS,the Village President and Board of Trustees desire to eliminate one Police Department
Commander position and one Police Department Sergeant Position in the Village's 2022 Budget to
accomplish the aforementioned structure.
WHEREAS, the Village President and Board of Trustees desire to re-initiate the Police
Department's K-9 Unit in the Village's 2022 Budget; and
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE PRESIDENT AND BOARD OF TRUSTEES OF
THE VILLAGE OF OAK BROOK, DU PAGE AND COOK COUNTIES, ILLINOIS that the following
amendment is hereby authorized:
Section 1: The recitals above are hereby incorporated into and made a part of this ordinance.
Section 2: The General Fund budget is amended by increasing the amounts in the following
accounts:
1. Account 611-50000 (Salaries Full-Time) by$40,763
2. Account 611-51200 (Police Pension) by$5,756.35
3. Account 611-51500 (Health, Dental, Vision & Life Insurance) by$7,491.54
4. Account 611-51400 (Medicare & Social Security) by $7,230.00
5. Account 611-51100 (IMRF) by$2,623.00
6. Account 621-60700 (K-9 Unit) by$20,000.00
Section 3: This ordinance shall be in full force and effect from and after its passage and approval
as required by law.
Section 4: All ordinances or parts thereof in conflict with the provisions of this ordinance be and
the same are hereby repealed to the extent of such conflict.
