SURESH REDDY EDWARD TIESENGA ASIF YUSUF Village Board Published in pamphlet form by authority of the President and the Board of Trustees of the Village of Oak Brook on this the 26th day of April, 2022 ORDINANCE NO. 2022 PD-TC-G-1210 AN ORDINANCE AMENDING TITLE 7 CHAPTER 2 OF THE VILLAGE OF OAK BROOK CODE OF ORDINANCES WHEREAS, the Village of Oak Brook (hereinafter referred to as the "Village") is an Illinois Municipal Corporation organized pursuant to the laws of the State of Illinois; WHEREAS, the Village has in full force and effect a codified set of ordinances which are of a general and permanent nature, which said codified set is known and designated as the Village Code of the Village of Oak Brook, as amended; WHEREAS, pursuant to Illinois Motor Vehicle Code the Village has the authority to regulate traffic within the corporate boundaries of the Village; WHEREAS, Title 7, Chapter 2 provides for regulation of streets and thoroughfares within the corporate boundaries of the Village of Oak Brook; WHEREAS, the Village by and through it's the Village of Oak Brook Police Department continuously monitors and reviews traffic and traffic patterns within the corporate boundaries of the Village; WHEREAS, due to numerous resident concerns relating to the safety of pedestrians in and about the area, the Police Department has been monitoring Madison Street near Frederick Drive for several years; WHEREAS, as a result of the repeated requests by residents for safety measures to slow vehicles down as the vehicles approach Spring Road temporary stop signs were installed in the designated area; WHEREAS, the Police Department has closely examined the issues and concerns and has assembled certain data regarding certain traffic calming measures, specifically, the placement of stop signs at N/B and S/B Madison Street at the stop intersection of Frederick Drive; WHEREAS, the Corporate Authorities of the Village of Oak Brook are of the opinion that that it is in the best interests of the safety, health and welfare of the residents to amend the village's code of ordinances as referenced herein. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED, in open meeting assembled by the Village President and Board of Trustees of the Village of Oak Brook, Cook and DuPage Counties, Illinois as follows: Section One - Recitals The Board of Trustees hereby find that all of the recitals hereinbefore stated as contained in the preamble to this ordinance are full, true and correct and do hereby, by reference, incorporate and make them part of this ordinance as legislative findings. 2 Section Two —Amend Title 7 Chapter 2 Title 7 Chapter 2 Schedule III and Schedule IV shall be amended by the addition of the following to Schedule III and Schedule IV: Schedule III Shall be required to stop at N/B and S/B Madison Street at the stop intersection of Frederick Drive Schedule IV Traffic On Will Stop At N/B and S/B Madison Street Frederick Drive Section Three—Codification The title, chapter(s) and section(s) adopted by this Ordinance shall be numbered and placed in an appropriate title, chapter(s), and sections(s) sections when and during the codification of the Oak Brook Municipal Code. Section Four- Conflict Clause That all ordinances, parts of ordinances or board actions in conflict with the terms of this ordinance shall be repealed to the extent of said conflict. Section Five—Effective Date These provisions of the Village Code amended herein shall become effective immediately upon passage and publication as provided by law. Section Six- Constitutionality Clause Any part or parts of this ordinance declared by a court of law to be invalid or unconstitutional shall not affect the validity of the remaining provisions of this ordinance or the Oak Brook Municipal Code. Section Seven - Passage Clause That this ordinance shall be in full force and effect from and after its passage, approval and publication in the manner as provided by law. Section Eight- Publication This ordinance shall be published in book or pamphlet form as provided by the Illinois Municipal Code. 3 Section Nine- Recording This ordinance shall be entered into the minutes and upon the journals of the Board of Trustees of the Village of Oak Brook.
