SUBJECT: Soccer Field Naming Rights Agreement

BUDGET SOURCE/BUDGET IMPACT: Based upon preliminary estimates, the
proposed Soccer Management Naming Rights Agreement could potentially net between
$27,500 and $55,000 in revenues, if the program is successful in securing sponsors for all
eleven soccer fields.
RECOMMENDED MOTION: I move the Village Board approve Resolution 2022-SC-
NME-R-2009 "A Resolution Approving and Authorizing The Execution of An Agreement
By And Between The Village of Oak Brook And Premier Athletic Management Co."
Background/History:
On January 25, 2022, the Village approved Resolution 2022-SC-AG-R-1999 authorizing
an agreement for Premier Athletic Management ("Premier") to manage the Sports Core
soccer fields. That same evening, and subsequent to the aforementioned approval, the
Village approved Ordinance 2022-SC-AG-EX-S-1640 authorizing a lease agreement for
Premier to occupy the structure commonly known as the"Soccer office"at 700 Oak Brook
Road.
As part of their continual program development, Premier has brought forth a concept to
install new field signage, identifying field locations and numbering, to provide better
identification and wayfinding. In order to do so at no cost to the Village, Premier has
proposed a field sponsorship program that would cover the cost of the signage as well
financially benefit both parties. The parameters for such a program are identified in the
attached agreement, as also summarized below:
• Premier would be solely responsible for the solicitation, management and
coordination of sponsorships;

• Premier would collect all sponsorship fees and remit to the Village 50% of all
collections, but not less than$2,500 per field,within 30 days thereof;
• Premier would design,install,and maintain all signage at their sole expense,subject
to design, height, width, surface area, materials and placement approval by the
Village;
• The initial term of the agreement would run from April 1, 2022 to December 31,
2023;
• The agreement could be renewed annually, by the calendar year thereafter, upon
the mutual consent of both parties;
• The Village would be provided any and all information regarding any potential
sponsor, including the entity and value of the sponsorship, and that the Village
would has the final approval right of any potential sponsor.
Premier has indicated the signs would be designed to include the name"Oak Brook Sports
Core" alongside identifying field locations and numbering and the signs would include a
replaceable plaque that could be swapped out annually, should sponsors change. The
reason for the initial 19 month period, prior to the annual renewals, is in recognition of
both the shortened term of the first year and the need to amortize the initial cost of the
signage production and installation across two seasons.
Recommendation:
Staff recommends that the Village Board approve Resolution 2022-SC-NME-R-2009 "A
Resolution Approving and Authorizing The Execution of An Agreement By And Between
The Village of Oak Brook And Premier Athletic Management Co."
