Re advised that he will be meeting with the Westmont Village Attorney next week regarding the proposed pro-annexation agreement between those parties. Be noted further that he would advise me immediately thereafter as to any perspective time table for Wes tmont's action on that so that we accordingly can have a better idea of the time frame necessary for any possible continuation of our agreement with the Franciscans pursuant to Resolution R-292. Carmignani, Village Manager it Re.: Metyslake Village Fire Protection Dear Mr. Carrmignani and Membersof the Village Board: The Franciscan Tertiary Province of the Sacred Heart, Inc. requests the con- tinuance of fire protection service to our Mayslake Village housing for the elderly complex at 1801 35th Street for an additional period to September 30, 1981. I In October 19801 our attorney submitted a draft of a Pre-Aneexation Agree- moat to the Village of Westmont, with the hope that the *nat. questions and other matters relative to the annexation of our Mayalake Villa e,property to the Vii- legse of Westmont would be completed long before June 1, 1981. i ,i In the fall of 1980, meetings were had uithti a Westmont Village staff , relative to these matters but with the chains. of personnel on the Westmont Board and apparently more pressing matters, no public bearings wean held on the pro- 1 planed annexatiom. I understand that the pro used. annexation will be discussed by the Westmont Committee of the Whole at its July 2nd, 1981 meeting. The residents of Mayslake Village, the staff and I would appreciate your consideration of a further extension of fire protedtion service until Septem- ber 30, 1981 or the completion of annexation proceedings, whichever shall first occur. s I S c- sly yours;, Jr II r . BROOK 1200 OAK BROOK ROAD OAK BROOK, ILLINOIS 654-2220 July 7, 1981 - I MEMO TO: Ken Carmignani, Village Manager FROM: James E. Clark, Building Commissioner SUBJECT: Mayslake Village, Fire Protection I would like to brim to your attention that the Resolution extending fire protection service to Mayslake Village, passed and approved by the Village, November 11, 1980, has terminated as of June 1, 1981. I have had no word from the Mayslake Administration regarding this matter. I would like to be advised if we should continue with fire protection for an interim period or terminate the service. 5gapectfully submitted, James E. Clark Fire Chief JEC/sc cc: • John Brechin, Village Attorney 1 • VILLAGE OF OAK BROOK 1200 OAK BROO . ROAD OAK BROOK, ILLINOIS 654-2220 it July 7, 1981 MBMO TO: President and Board of Trustees SUBJECT: Mayslake Fire Protection Services The Village Board in November, 1980 passed and approved a Resolution extending the Agreement for fire protection service to Mayslake Village. The Agreement was to terminate on June 1, 1981 or upon the annexation of the property or any portion of that area to the Village of Westmont. Prior to June 1, 1981 we contacted Mayslake to determine what progress had been made in resolving the annexation to the Village of Westmont, and, likewise, con- tacted the Village of Westmont to determine what activity had occurred toward that end. On June 19, 1981 John Brachia discussed the matter in detail with Jim Murphy since the date of termination had passed with no response from Mayslake. We have received a letter from Mayslake asking that the Agreement be extended through September 30, 1981 to permit them sufficient time to fully execute all of the !j documentation necessary for annexation by Westmont. I had conversation with the Village Manager of the Village of Westmont who con- firmed the fact that Mayslake and Westmont have in fact prepared the necessary (, documentation to complete action in that regard. The Board, dealing with the associated properties surrounding Mayslake will meet in the month of August to hopefully finalize the Agreenments. Since the Resolution called for service only through June 1, 1981 this matter has been placed on the Board agenda for Board action. The alternative would be to terminate service and leave an interim period of time until the annexation was formally accomplished without fire service from the Village of Oak Brook. Since all parties have indicated a desire to complete the necessary actions for annexa- tion the Village Board might want to consider extension of the Agreement through the September 30, 1981 date.
